SoberChamp is support, not medical care. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Sori is an AI companion, not a person and not a clinician. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call your local emergency number now. See safety and crisis help.
1. Who we are
SoberChamp is provided by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] (“SoberChamp”, “we”, “us”). These terms apply to the SoberChamp apps and this website. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use SoberChamp.
2. Who can use SoberChamp
You must be 18 or over. You confirm your age when you start. If we learn that someone under 18 is using an account, we will close it and delete its data.
3. Not medical care
- SoberChamp offers tools, information and encouragement. It does not replace a doctor, therapist, counsellor, sponsor or emergency service.
- Stopping alcohol, benzodiazepines or opioids suddenly can be dangerous and can be life threatening. Talk with a doctor before you change how much you use.
- Health timelines, savings figures and similar content are general information. They describe what many people experience and are not a prediction or advice for you.
- Never ignore or delay professional advice because of something you read in the app or something Sori said.
4. Sori, the AI companion
- Sori is artificial intelligence. Replies are generated by an AI model and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date.
- Sori does not diagnose, does not give doses or medication advice, and is not a therapist, counsellor or sponsor.
- Sori only works after you give separate consent for your messages to be processed by an AI model. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Do not rely on Sori in an emergency. Sori cannot call anyone for you. In a crisis Sori will point you to emergency services and helplines. The full description is on the AI page.
- You can report any reply from Sori to us at support@soberchamp.com.
5. Your account
You can start as a guest or sign in with an email code, Apple or Google. Keep your device and sign in secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access.
A guest account lives on your device and in our systems without an email address. If you lose the device before linking a sign in method, we may not be able to restore it.
6. What you may do
We give you a personal, non transferable, revocable licence to use SoberChamp for your own, non commercial use. Please do not:
- break the law or these terms, or help anyone else do so;
- copy, resell, reverse engineer or scrape the service, except where the law allows it;
- interfere with the service, test its security without our written agreement, or try to reach another person’s data;
- use SoberChamp to build a competing product or to train AI models;
- pretend to be someone else, or use the service on behalf of a business.
7. Your content and the community
Your journal, chats and tracker data are yours. We process them only to provide the service to you, as described in the privacy policy.
When you post in the Circle you give us a worldwide, free licence to host, display and moderate that content inside SoberChamp for as long as it stays posted. You can delete your posts at any time. You are responsible for what you post.
The community guidelines are part of these terms and you accept them before your first post. We may remove content, pause posting or close an account that breaks them. You can report content and block members in the app, and you can appeal a decision by writing to support@soberchamp.com.
Other members are not professionals. Treat what you read in the community as personal experience, not advice.
8. Membership, trials and billing
SoberChamp Free. The tracker, pledge, review, SOS toolkit, helplines, calendar, savings, milestones, community, backup and a daily chat allowance with Sori are free. We do not plan to move these behind a paywall.
SoberChamp Plus. Plus is an optional subscription that adds further features, described in the app before you buy. Memberships are not on sale yet. When they are, the following applies:
- Price. You see the full price, in your local currency and including the billing period, before you confirm. Prices differ between countries.
- Free trial. If a trial is offered, the screen tells you how long it lasts and the date and amount of the first charge. We send a reminder two days before the trial ends, if you have notifications or email available. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then current price until you cancel.
- Cancelling. Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are billed by them. You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. The app shows you how. You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Rights you have under the consumer law of your country, including any right of withdrawal, are not affected.
- Price changes. If a price changes, you are told in advance and can cancel before the new price applies.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription. Cancel it in the store as well.
Glow, sunstones, ranks, badges and Haven items are features of the app. They have no cash value, cannot be bought with money, sold, transferred or exchanged, and may change as the app evolves.
9. Our content
The SoberChamp name, logo, Sori, the artwork, sounds, text and software belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you no rights in them beyond using the app. Press and partners can find logo files on the press page.
10. Other services
SoberChamp relies on services from other companies, such as the app stores and sign in providers. Their terms apply to your use of their services. Helplines listed in the app are run by independent organisations and we are not responsible for them.
11. Changes and availability
We keep improving SoberChamp, so features may change, and some may move between Free and Plus for new purchases. We aim to keep the service available, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Core tools such as your clock and the SOS toolkit are designed to work offline.
12. Ending things
You can stop using SoberChamp and delete your account at any time in the app or through this page. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. Where it is safe and lawful, we tell you why and give you the chance to export your data.
13. Our responsibility to you
We provide SoberChamp with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, the service is provided as it is, without promises that it will meet a particular result. We cannot promise that using SoberChamp will keep you sober or well.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection rules.
Otherwise, as far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the larger of the amount you paid us in that period and 100 US dollars.
If you are a consumer, you keep every right that the law of your country gives you. These terms do not take any of them away.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by [GOVERNING LAW AND COURTS]. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where the law gives you that right.
15. If you downloaded from the Apple App Store
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, its maintenance or support, or any claim about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Your use must also follow the App Store terms.
16. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using SoberChamp and delete your account. The date at the top shows the latest version.
